The Council for Children and Adolescents with Chronic Health Conditions is established to advocate and collaborate with state and local agencies to assess and improve:
These children and their families face numerous challenges, including school and education issues, insurance and medical concerns, and family support needs. All too often children with chronic health conditions do not receive the services, support, and attention that they critically need. Initiatives of the Council include: Health Education Leadership Project (HELP); Guaranteed Collateral Loan Fund, Parent Training/Conference Funds; School Personnel Training/Conference Funds; and Family Financial Management Workshops. MISSION STATEMENT The Council for Children and Adolescents with Chronic Health Conditions and their families is established:
COUNCIL OVERVIEW Children with chronic health conditions represent approximately 12% (42,000) of the youth population in New Hampshire. A child's on-going health condition causes an enormous amount of stress on the entire family, both emotionally and financially. These children and their families face numerous challenges, including school and education issues, insurance and medical concerns, and family support needs. All too often children with chronic health conditions do not receive the services, support, and attention that they need. |
