About Us

Approximately 42,000 New Hampshire children suffer from a chronic health condition. At least 10,000 of these children have severe to life-threatening illnesses.

The Council for Children and Adolescents with Chronic Health Conditions is a comprehensive statewide advisory and advocacy organization formed to address issues that impact the lives of children with chronic illness and their families in four primary areas:

  • Promoting needs assessments of children and adolescents with chronic health conditions and their families.
  • Serving in an advisory capacity to the State Departments of Health and Human Services, Education, and Insurance for policy and program development.
  • Collaborating with state offices and state office and statewide organizations to enhance community-based family supports that meet the unique needs of children and adolescents with chronic health conditions and their families.
  • Increasing awareness of the medical, social, and educational issues that impact children and adolescents with chronic health conditions and their families.
